Cook

We're looking for a cook who is knowledgeable and experienced in scratch production of classic seasonal American fare, like soups, salads and sandwiches.  This position is responsible for preparation, packaging, and cooking menu items to order, as well as running food and occasionally washing dishes. We serve breakfast and lunch seven days a week. On top of being experienced in the kitchen, this person must be able to successfully communicate with the rest of the staff to accommodate for days off and continual production.   Must be a great team player, as well as be able to work independently and have good time management skills.  Must be able to follow house recipes, as well as bring new ideas in for consideration, and offer helpful feedback in recipe development.

Morning shifts required, full time with at least 36 hours/ week, with at least one weekend day.   Must have Oregon food Handler’s Card, and ability to get OLCC Card. On the farm we have access to fresh herbs and vegetables to be utilized as needed, so a basic interest in gardening is also a plus!

Customer Service

You'll provide a fantastic experience for our customers from the the time they arrive through the checkout process. 

Responsibilities: Greet customers, answer questions, provide a friendly checkout process, assist with loading vehicles, and carry on our tradition of phenomenal service for our customers.

Job Requirements: A basic knowledge of computer-based point of sale systems, team-oriented, and be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Plant knowledge is a plus. 

 

Delivery Driver

Whether it’s a large order of plants, statuary, pottery, or a fountain that needs to be set up, you’ll be responsible for finding and loading the orders and delivering them safely to their new home. 

Responsibilities: Efficiently route the day’s deliveries, load and secure potentially fragile items for transport, drive a small box truck or step van, unload and place items. 

Job Requirements: A valid driver’s license and clean driving history, safely lift and carry 75 pounds, and effectively communicate with fellow employees and customers.

 

Estate Gardener & Groundskeeper

We are looking for a passionate gardener to maintain and enhance the beauty of the entire 5 acre Cornell Farm property. Our unique urban farm setting includes everything from display gardens and fields to gravel paths and parking lots. 

You will often be working around customers and may be needed to lend a hand with retail duties on occasion, but will maintain your primary focus on the cleanliness and beauty of the Farm. This is a year-round, long term, part-time to full-time position. 

Responsibilities: Maintain and enhance all the display gardens (including inside the nursery and along the road) by weeding, mulching, pruning, planting, fertilizing, and monitoring irrigation systems. Keep all gravel zones, including pathways and terraces, weeded and clean. Occasionally use power equipment such as brush cutters and string trimmers to maintain the peripheries of the property. 

Job Requirements:  Have 2 years experience in a landscape related field. Knowledge of perennials, annuals, trees, and shrubs (and eager to learn more!) Be able to safely operate and maintain power equipment such as string trimmers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, and brush cutters as well as other gardening tools including pruners, ladders, and sprayers. Be able to safely lift and carry 75 pounds, bend, kneel, reach, climb, and work in all Pacific Northwest weather conditions. Be able to prioritize and work effectively with minimal supervision. Be reliable. Unexcused absence or tardiness is not tolerated.
