This is my experience with blueberry bushes. You plant six in the back garden. You amend the soil with compost. You water them. Then you watch every year as your children pick them clean of every passably ripe blue morsel before you get even one. Or maybe, if you are lucky and the children are of just the right age, you are presented a small, sweaty handful by the most wonderstruck of human beings.
Either way, I can’t think of a better reason to grow blueberries in your garden. The Willamette Valley is blueberry growing heaven, and Cornell Farm is well stocked with lots of varieties in various size pots. And right now they are “berrying up.”
June marks the beginning of the season to earn Pansy Bucks. From now until September 15, earn one Cornell Farm Pansy Bucks for every $10 you spend on anything at the nursery. Then, during the Pansy Festival Sept 15 through 30, you can use your saved up Pansy Bucks as real cash for up to 50 percent off anything in the nursery! It’s our way of saying thank you to our summer customers.
