What you can do now:

Sunday April 22nd was Earth Day. But just because it's past doesn't mean it's any less important. Here are some excellent links with important information and ideas for simple things you can do now.

Earth911.org

Earth911.org provides a vast amount of information including recycling everything from cans to computers, 50 things you can do to stop Global Warming, how to help get your kids involved, and much, much more. One of the most powerful features of this site is its extensive catalog of local events and recycling centers.

AmericanForest.org

AmericanForests.org is home to an amazing tree restoration program. For every dollar you donate, they will plant a tree for you almost anywhere in the world. From the site of California wild fires to the Russian far east, you can give trees to the location or organization of your choice.

UN BillionTrees

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has recently launched a worldwide tree planting campaign. Their goal is to plant 1,000,000,000 (yes, one billion) trees by the end of 2007. Check out the UNEP website for more information on how you can contribute.

GreenPages

Time’s Earth-Friendly Home explains how you can make a difference around your home and breaks down how many pounds of CO2 your actions will keep out of the air. Also, see Time’s list of 51 things you can do to save the environment.
